考研英语翻译是第一道主观题，也是第二部分中大部分同学觉得困难的题目。主要是因为没有掌握翻译技巧，练习后又没有评判标准。但考研英语主要考察考生是否能分析清楚句子结构，只要能掌握处理长难句的方法和翻译技巧，就能轻松译出得分的译文。既然是长难句，我们就先把句子划分成简短而的句子结构，断句后再分清每个结构的含义和各结构之间的关系，分别翻译出来再合理整合到一起，就有了成型的译文。下面，新东方网带大家练习吧~~~

　　【句子结构】

　　主句主干

　　本句结构较为复杂，主句部分为“we must remember further that hosts of plays have been lost, and that probably there is no author of note whose entire work has survived.”

　　非谓语

　　To realize how great was the dramatic activity，非谓语 to realize 作为句子的目的状语。

　　宾语从句

　　宾语从句为：“how great was the dramatic activity和that hosts of plays have been lost, and that probably there is no author of note whose entire work has survived.”这三个句子都是宾语从句，一个是realize的宾语，由how作为从属连词引导的宾语从句，另外两个句子是remember的宾语，由从属连词that引导的宾语从句。注意宾语从句的识别，以及how的翻译方法，how后面加形容词翻译为“多么”;how后面加其它词性翻译为“如何”。

　　定语从句

　　其中第三个宾语从句中，有一个whose 引导的定语从句whose entire work has survived，这个定语从句修饰 author of note.

　　【重点词汇】

　　realize 作为动词表示“实现，了解，认识到”。dramatic 为 drama 的形容词形式，意思为“戏剧的，引人注目的，激动人心的”。survive 作为动词表示“幸存，活下来;比…活得长”。hosts of 表示“大量的”。

　　【参考译文】

　　为了了解戏剧性活动有多么伟大，我们必须牢记大量的戏剧已经被遗忘了，并且有可能没有一位知名作家的所有作品都保留了下来。
