本次写作的A节是写一封邀请信，邀请校国际专家(all international experts on campus)参加毕业典礼(inviting them to attend the graduation ceremony)，说明时间和其他相关信息(include the time, place, and other relevant information about the ceremony)。这类体裁在2013年考研英语(一)中曾考过：邀请外教做评委。所以这也说明了借鉴考研历年写作真题的重要性。

　　本次大作文是关于创新的话题，试题给出了一幅图，图中一个学生在用选课系统，想着选什么样的课。知识新，重创新，难度高，还是给高分，易通过，作业少。这幅图的寓意显而易见考察的是：创新。创新话题在2016年12月六级考试中也出现过该类型话题的文字式议论作文：Your essay should include the importance of creation/ innovation/ invention and measures to be taken to encourage creation/ innovation/ invention; 2012 年 12 月六级引语评论作文也考察的是人生哲理类话题-创新：Write an essay entitled Man and Computer by commenting on the saying, “The real danger is not that the computer will begin to think like man, but that man will begin to think like the computer.”。由此看来，不管以什么样的出题形式，创新这种“永恒性话题”还是要引起大家注意的。当然出题人想以这幅图告诉现在的大学生在大学的时候应该多学些创新有用的知识，而不是仅仅混学分。2018年大作文第一段对图画中场景的描写是一个重点，这对学生的英语表达能力是一个很大的考验。
