　　absence

　　我们显然要先回顾absence的形容词形式absent：缺席的；记住一个单词absent-minded心不在焉的，名词可以变为absent-mindedness。

　　His absent-mindedness during our talking is really annoying.

　　谈话时他心不在焉，真的让人恼怒。

　　absent的词汇构造：ab-否定，分开；sent-send表示“运送”, 送走了，让其离开了，没有了，就“缺席”了。absent的反义词是present。pre-前面，send送，送到前面来吧，于是就在这里了，“在场”了。

　　absence就是absent的名词形式。

　　presence就是present的名词形式。

　　Boys should not talk dirty in the presence of girls.

　　在女孩子面前男孩子不应该说脏话。

　　意思似乎是：Boys can talk dirty in the absence of girls. 女孩子不在时男孩子可以说脏话。

　　男人不坏女人不爱嘛。男人也不爱。

　　absence of: 缺乏；

　　absence from: 缺席；

　　absence from duty: 擅离职守。

　　例句：The schools in rurala reas are in absence of necessary faculties and facilities. 农村地区缺乏必要的师资和设备。

　　单词不在于长相特别复杂，在于简单中的深刻。
