　　Scare tactic

　　Britain’s treasury published an analysis on May 23, warning citizens that leaving the European Union would tip the nation into a “year-long recession”. But the Vote Leave campaign has accused the government of scare tactics, saying the analysis is not an honest assessment. Britain will stage a referendum on June 23 over whether the country should remain in the EU, despite its often-troubled relationship with the group.

　　5月23日，英国财政部门公布分析结果，告诫英国人民，如果退出欧盟，国家将面临“长达一年的衰退”。但是，“退欧”阵营控诉政府使用“恐吓战术”，认为分析结果并非是诚实可信的评估。6月23日，英国将举行公投，决定是否留在欧盟，英国目前与欧盟的关系并不好。

　　马上学：Scare tactic指“恐吓手段、吓唬人的办法”，是可数名词短语。其他生活中常用的“战术”有：delaying tactics(拖延战术)、hit and run tactics(打了就跑的战术)、psychological tactics(心理战术)、blitz tactics(闪电战术)等。
