　　Directions:

　　Suppose your cousin Li Ming has just been admitted to a university. Write him/her a letter to:

　　1) congratulate him/her, and

　　2) give him/her suggestions on how to get prepared for university life.

　　Dear Li Ming,

　　Congratulations! I’m so glad to hear that you have just been admitted to Peking University. I know there was a lot of competition this year but your hard work and perseverance certainly paid off.

　　I’d like to give you several practical suggestions on how to get prepared for your university life. First, (it is my hope that you will take advantage of) I hope you will take full use of the library in your university by reading books both in and outside the college curriculum. Second, I believe that free-time should be spent on three main activities: physical exercises, relaxation and communication with friends and family.

　　Wish your further success in your study and hope you will invite me to your graduation ceremony in four years time.
